Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is surgery to increase breast size. It involves placing breast implants under breast tissue or chest muscles. This procedure offers women the opportunity for aesthetic improvement and resulting increases in confidence and self-esteem. Implants are available in various sizes and shapes — your Plastic Surgeon will recommend the appropriate implant based on your body shape and the results you wish to achieve. The most common types of breast implants are silicone and saline. Both of which are safely approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Breast Lift

Due to the natural effects of aging, or factors such as lost skin elasticity (e.g. due to pregnancy/breast feeding for example) and significant weight loss, the breasts may lose their youthful shape and firmness and such sagging often cannot be remedied without surgical intervention. A breast lift is a body contouring procedure that lifts and tightens the breasts by reducing loose skin and pulling the healthy tissues tight to produce a more youthful and healthier look. As part of an in depth consultation, your Plastic Surgeon will evaluate your body and together you can discuss expectations, desires and potential outcomes in order to determine which course of action is appropriate for you.

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is a procedure used to reduce and reshape excessively large breasts. By surgically removing excess fat, glandular tissue, and reducing the exterior skin, a plastic surgery can reduce the size of the breast. Patients may desire breast reduction in order to reduce the physical strain, or emotional discomfort of life with oversized breasts. Together with your plastic surgeon you will discuss the appropriate level of reduction (amount of cup sizes), the steps involved in the breast reduction procedure and what to expect afterwards.

Breast Reconstruction

The goal of breast reconstruction is to restore one or both breasts to near normal shape, appearance, symmetry and size following mastectomy, lumpectomy or congenital deformities. Breast reconstruction often involves multiple procedures performed in stages and can either begin at the time of mastectomy or be delayed until a later date. Breast reconstruction generally falls into two categories: implant-based reconstruction or flap reconstruction. Implant reconstruction relies on breast implants to help form a new breast mound. Flap (or autologous) reconstruction uses the patient’s own tissue from another part of the body to form a new breast. There are a number of factors that should be taken into consideration when choosing which option is best: Type of mastectomy Cancer treatments Patient’s body type

Breast Revision

Breast revision surgery often is quite complex, and it is much more involved than simple primary cosmetic Plastic Surgery of the breasts. A “primary procedure” refers to a cosmetic breast augmentation, breast lift, or reduction where this operation is the very first surgery a woman has had on her breasts. Breast revision surgery refers to any additional procedures after the primary surgery, where the goal is to improve upon the results and often to achieve better symmetry—or to correct other problems such as symmastia, capsular contracture, and/or bottoming-out. A plastic surgeon may evaluate a patient’s potential for breast revision by considering what specfically create the patient’s deformity or complaint about her breasts, which breast revision options are available to treat the problem and whether the breast revision can adequately address the patient’s complaints.

Breast Implant Removal/Revision

Breast implant removal surgery is a procedure that removes implants from previous breast augmentation or reconstruction surgery. The goal of breast implant revision surgery is to replace old breast implants with new implants. Usually the objective is also to change or improve the appearance of the breasts while updating the implant material.

Breast Augmentation with Lift

BODY

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty, more commonly known as “tummy tuck”, involves the removal of excess skin and fat whilst also tightening the abdominal muscles. Patients may desire a tummy tuck after significant weight loss, pregnancy, or simply due to body changes as a result of aging. A tummy tuck results in a slim, tightened appearance that often can’t be achieved with diet or exercise alone. Once the abdominal skin and muscles have been stretched to a certain point, it is almost impossible to reduce this excess tissue without surgical intervention. During a tummy tuck, the surgeon removes the excess skin and fat and tightens the muscles to flatten and firm the abdominal area.

Liposuction

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty or liposculpture, is a popular cosmetic procedure which removes unwanted and excess fat in order to create desirable contours resulting in a slimmer and more sculpted appearance. Liposuction can be carried out on several areas of the body including the stomach, thighs, hips, arms, hands, back, breasts, and neck. Liposuction works by bathing the fat cells in a solution of normal saline, local anesthesia, and dilute epinephrine (tumescent fluid). Then, unwanted fat deposits are removed using suction through a thin tubular instrument called a cannula. The procedure is effective, efficient and pain free and provides permanent results.

Arm Lift

An arm lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to tighten the skin of the upper arms and reduce excess skin and/or fatty tissue deposits in this area. After removing the excess skin and fatty tissue, the surgeon sutures the skin back in place, creating a toned, youthful arm appearance.

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to tighten the skin of the thigh and reduce sagging in the inner or outer thigh. It can correct drooping buttocks or legs, cellulite, and loose, unsightly skin around the thighs and buttocks.

Brazilian Butt Lift

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a surgical procedure that uses your own fat from liposuction to improve the fullness and shape of the buttocks. This fat transfer procedure has the double benefit of creating more slender body contours while also enhancing the size and shape of your derrière. Stubborn fat that is difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise is removed and then used to augment the butt. In addition, the Brazilian Butt Lift is an excellent alternative to butt implants.

Mommy Makeover

The “Mommy Makeover” is catch-all phrase that refers to a specialized combination of body contouring procedures, performed together to improve the physical changes that linger long after pregnancy. The two areas of the body that are most affected during pregnancy are the abdominal area and the breasts. The abdomen is typically stretched resulting in redundant skin and separation of the abdominal muscles, whilst the breasts are typically affected by reducing in size and becoming more saggy. The Mommy Makeover helps women to restore a more rejuvenated figure.

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty can help decrease the size and improve the appearance of enlarged or asymmetrical labia minora. Enlarged or asymmetrical labia may occur due to a various of factors including childbirth, congenital factors or hormonal changes. Enlarged labia can interfere with sexual intercourse, physical activities, and even the ability to comfortably wear clothes. When the labia are out of balance, they tend to cause pain, pulling and irritation. Labiaplasty, also known as labia reduction or labia rejuvenation, aims to restore a more attractive cosmetic appearance that inspires renewed confidence.

FACE

Facelift

A facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that creates a more youthful apperance in the face and neck area. The procedure can reduce the sagging or folds of skin on the cheeks and jawline and other changes in the shape of your face that occur with age. During a face-lift, a flap of skin on each side of the face is pulled back, and tissues below the skin are surgically altered to return the contour of the face to a more youthful shape. Before the flap is sutured closed, excess skin is removed. Your surgeon will evaluate your face type and shape and discuss the best options to achieve your facial rejuvenation goals.

Necklift

Brow lift

A browlift, as known as forehead lift, is a surgical procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. By removing excess sagging, skin on the forehead and repositioning the underlying muscles and tissues, a brow lift can correct a heavy, sagging brow, eliminate deep furrows, and create a smoother, more youthful contour to the upper one-third of the face.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a type of surgery that alters the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both. The aim is to improve the appearance of the area surrounding the eyes and to improve vision obscured by drooping eyelids. With age, our muscles slacken and the skin loses its elasticity. For the eyelids, this results in folds in the upper lids and deepening creases in the lower lids. Also, the slackening of muscle beneath the skin allows the fat which cushions the eyes in their sockets to bulge forwards to give the appearance of bagginess. An upper-eyelid reduction can improve your vision and make you look younger. A lower-eyelid reduction can help to reduce wrinkles and puffiness.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure to change the size or shape of the nose. If you’ve always been unhappy with your nose, or an injury or aging have changed its appearance, Rhinoplasty can change the shape, correct distortion, cure any breathing difficulties, improve symmetry and restore facial harmony.

Cheek Augmentation

Cheek Augmentation surgery is a cosmetic procedure which reshapes the middle part of the face to achieve a more aesthetically balanced facial appearance or restore a more youthful look. Cheek implants are inserted through the mouth into the cheek under the facial muscles and periosteum overlying the cheek bones. Your chosen board certified surgery will advise the appropriate size implant required in order to provide a natural aesthetically balanced result.

Chin Augmentation

Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. A chin implant may be considered in order to bring various aspects of the face into proportion, extend or enlarge the chin if the chin is recessed or small or create a more defined facial profile if the jaw, chin, or cheeks lack distinction. With chin surgery, an implant is inserted in front of the jawbone in order to augment the chin or jaw. A small incision is made inside the mouth to allow the implant to be positioned in a pocket just under the skin. An alternate location for this incision is below the chin (on the outside). Chin surgery is commonly performed along with rhinoplasty (nose surgery).

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure used to increase the size of the lips through surgery or injections. This procedure can be performed on the upper or lower lip, or both at the same time, and may offer temporary or permanent results depending on the type of material used. Most patients desiring larger, fuller lips are able to achieve their desired results with just one simple procedure. Fuller lips can be achieved through several different cosmetic techniques. The best procedure for you depends on your overall health and desired results, along with several other determining factors. Your chosen board certified plastic surgeon will discuss these factors with you to help you decide which treatment option is best for you to achieve the full lips you desire.

Ear Pinning (Otoplasty)

Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is a type of cosmetic plastic surgery procedure aimed at setting prominent ears closer to the head, or reducing the size of larger ears. However, there are other ear problems that can be helped with this surgery. Surgeons can even build new ears for those who were born without them or who lost them through injury. Although each procedure varies, generally, ear pinning surgeries alter the cartilage just behind the ear. In some cases, cartilage and skin might be removed. In other cases, stitches are used to hold the cartilage permanently in place.

SKIN

BodyTite

BodyTite™ is a breakthrough treatment in body re-contouring. We all strive to look and feel our best but sometimes diet and exercise will not shift stubborn areas of fat and even if they do, skin can be loose and need a little help. BodyTite™ BodyTite™ is a breakthrough body re-contouring procedure that reduces stubborn fat while simultaneously tightening and firming your body. BodyTite works on the same principal as liposuction in as much as it removes fat, BodyTite melts the fat before it is removed to help give a smoother result. After the fat has been melted, it is removed by aspiration, this removes unwanted pockets of fat. Then radio-frequency heat is introduced under the skin to boost collagen production that leads to skin tightening.

FaceTite

Similar to BodyTite, FaceTite is a nonsurgical facelift alternative that reduces facial fat and excess skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance. This FDA-approved procedure uses radio-frequency energy to target unwanted fat, contour the face, and tighten the skin. In addition, FaceTite is the most advanced treatment available for minimally invasive body contouring. It is safe, gentle, and leaves no visible scars. Also, it involves minimal recovery time so you can get back to normal activities.

BOTOX

Botox is a cosmetic injection utilize by Botulinum Toxin Type A to treat wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles. Botox was originally slated to treat neurological disorders; today, Botox injections are widely and successfully used to reduce facial wrinkles, especially frown lines, “crow’s feet,” and forehead furrows.

Using a very small needle, Botox Cosmetic is injected directly into targeted facial muscles. If patients experience any discomfort while receiving Botox injections, it is usually minimal and only lasts a few seconds. Once injected, Botox Cosmetic works by preventing nerve impulses from reaching selected facial muscles, essentially immobilizing them and allowing the skin to relax. This smoothes facial lines and wrinkles in affected areas for the duration of the treatment period. The effects of Botox injections are usually noticeable within a few days. Although the results of Botox treatment are not permanent, they usually last for three to four months. Botox injections are performed on an outpatient basis and may be repeated when the results diminish.

JUVEDERM

The JUVÉDERM collection is a family of highly effective injectable dermal fillers designed to restore a more youthful appearance by restoring lost volume, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, and addressing additional signs of facial aging. JUVÉDERM is made with synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that also occurs naturally in the body and contributes to healthy, supple skin and the production of collagen.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions. The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it. A different microdermabrasion technique sprays fine particles of aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate with a suction to accomplish the same outcome as using the abrasive surface.

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back is smoother. With a light or medium peel, the patient may need to undergo the procedure more than once to get the desired results. Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, discolored skin and scars — usually on the face. They can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures. And they can be done at different depths, from light to deep. Deeper chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but also take longer to recover from.

RF Microneedling

Microneedling and Radio Frequency is used to reduce and improve wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars and generally improve the tone and texture on the skin. Results can include smoother, tighter, more radiant skin. A device with fine needles or pins creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as skin resurfacing. RF micro-needling adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional micro-needling procedure. The RF energy is delivered via small needles into the dermis. In addition to the benefits seen with the micro-injury provided by the traditional microneedles, RF micro-needling also delivers RF energy deep into the dermis further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair. During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth. Although laser hair removal effectively delays hair growth for long periods, it usually doesn’t result in permanent hair removal. Multiple laser hair removal treatments are needed for initial hair removal, and maintenance treatments might be needed as well. Laser hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair, but it can be successfully used on all skin types.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing is a facial rejuvenation procedure that uses a laser to improve the skin’s appearance or treat minor facial flaws. It can be done with:

i) Ablative laser – This type of laser removes the thin outer layer of skin (epidermis) and heats the underlying skin (dermis), which stimulates the growth of collagen — a protein that improves skin firmness and texture. As the epidermis heals and regrows, the treated area appears smoother and tighter. Types of ablative therapy include a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser, an erbium laser and combination systems.

ii) Nonablative laser or light source – This approach also stimulates collagen growth. It’s a less aggressive approach than an ablative laser and has a shorter recovery time. But the results are less noticeable. Types include pulsed-dye laser, erbium (Er:YAG) and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy.

Both methods can be delivered with a fractional laser, which leaves microscopic columns of untreated tissue throughout the treatment area. Fractional lasers were developed to shorten recovery time and reduce the risk of side effects. Laser resurfacing can lessen the appearance of fine lines in the face. It can also treat loss of skin tone and improve your complexion. Laser resurfacing can’t eliminate excessive or sagging skin.

MALE

Gynecomastia (male breast reduction)

Male breast reduction or gynecomastia surgery is a procedure used to treat men with enlarged breasts by . Enlargement of male breasts is medically known as gynaecomastia. Gynecomastia is common, and in most men affected there is no underlying problem. Male chest reduction is one of the most frequently requested cosmetic surgery procedures amongst men. There are a number of options for the treatment of enlarged male breast including liposuction, surgical removal of firm breast tissue, surgical removal of loose skin or a combination of these options. The choice of treatment depends on the nature of the enlargement (firmness of your breast tissue/ presence of loose skin). Your surgeon will evaluate the most appropriate option for their client which will result in the most optimal cosmetic outcome.

Pectoral Implants

Some men will not be able to see the desired results simply from working out the chest area (Muscle). The pectoral implant procedure is designed to increase the chest size and shape by inserting implants made of solid silicone under the real muscle.

Calf Augmentation

Calf augmentation or calf enhancement is a plastic surgery procedure to improve the shape and size of the calf in order to improve the proportions of the legs. Calf augmentation can help to bring harmony to the proportions of the body and give the legs a more balanced and defined appearance.

There are two options available for enhancing the appearance of the calves. Calf enhancement through fat grafting is an option for patients who enhance the shape of their calves, so they have a more defined appearance. Fat is harvested from an area of the body with excess fat and then injected into the calves. Surgeons precisely manage the placement of the fat as well as the amount of fat being injected in order to give the calves an enhanced shape that looks as natural as possible.

Another option involves using special implants that can add bulk to the calves and give them a more defined appearance. The procedure involves making an incision behind the knee along the natural creases in the skin. The implant is then inserted and carefully placed. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and only takes an hour to complete.

Abdominal Sculpting

Abdominal Sculpting or ‘Etching’, also known as liposculpture, is a surgical procedure where unwanted fat around the midsection is strategically liposuctioned from the body in an attempt to contour and showcase the abdominal muscles – creating a 6-pack almost overnight.

Using power-assisted liposuction, abdominal etching is an excellent method for sculpting an ideal abdomen; it’s safe, effective, and creates that defined abdominal wall sought after in male patients. Patient selection is important to a good outcome; abdominal sculpting works best on patients that are in good shape but have areas of fat that are resistant to achieving the abdominal muscle definition they desire.
