Dr. Kristi Sumpter, DO, is a distinguished, board-certified cosmetic and general surgeon at Winds of Change Cosmetic Surgery in Houston. With extensive expertise in breast surgeries—including revisions, augmentations, lifts, reductions, and implant removals—Dr. Sumpter also specializes in abdominoplasty, mommy makeovers, eyelid surgery, liposuction, and injectable fillers. In addition, she has considerable experience in mastectomy, lumpectomy, and other advanced procedures.
Dr. Sumpter began her academic journey at the University of Texas, continuing on to earn her medical degree from the University of North Texas in Fort Worth. She then completed her general surgery residency at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, followed by advanced training in pediatric surgery, cancer surgery, gynecology oncology, and trauma surgery. Her career also includes a role as a clinical instructor at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where she honed her teaching and surgical skills.
After gaining valuable experience as a general surgeon in Lufkin, Texas, Dr. Sumpter discovered her passion for cosmetic surgery, a field that beautifully blends her love of artistry, creativity, and surgical precision. She completed a prestigious cosmetic surgery fellowship with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Lake Mary, Florida, and pursued further specialized training in Beverly Hills, California.
Returning to her Texas roots, Dr. Sumpter launched her own cosmetic surgery practice, where she brings her surgical expertise and compassionate care to her patients. She is double board-certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Additionally, she is a Diplomat of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
