Dr. James Lee, a skilled plastic surgeon based in Anchorage, brings a blend of artistry and precision to his practice, creating results that are both natural and functional. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Lee is deeply committed to patient safety and is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes through the latest surgical techniques and a meticulous, personalized approach.
Dr. Lee’s educational journey began at Pacific Union College in Napa Valley, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology, with a focus on both cellular and environmental biology. He then pursued his medical degree at Loma Linda University in Southern California. During his medical studies, Dr. Lee’s passion for surgery was ignited through humanitarian trips to Chad and Uganda, where he worked in underserved communities and discovered the profound impact of surgical care.
After earning his medical degree, Dr. Lee completed a general surgery residency at the University of Arizona in Phoenix. His dedication to education was recognized when he was named Medical Student Educator of the Year during his tenure as chief resident. He further honed his skills at the Tulane University Ochsner Plastic Surgery program, where he received advanced training in plastic surgery before joining Plastic Surgeons of Alaska.
Having spent a considerable amount of time in Anchorage during his general surgery training, Dr. Lee is thrilled to return to the community he loves. Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing the guitar, exploring the great outdoors, and cheering on Northwest sports teams.

I used Dr. Lee for a breast augmentation last June! I seriously can not say enough about how awesome he is and his staff! It was the best experience I could have hoped for. His office staff is so sweet and easy to work with. Makes a huge difference in a experience when the whole office is a team! I was extremely nervous before surgery and Dr. Lee calmed my nerves by being very through with explaining everything to me! He was also very patient with me when I could decide on sizing 😆 I went with his recommendation and they turned out great. Day of surgery was amazing. I was calm.
