Dr Ellen Hancock, MD - Plastic Surgeon Florida
Dr. Ellen Hancock’s story is as vibrant and dynamic as the art she loves to create. Born and raised as a first-generation Chinese American in Austin, Texas, Dr. Hancock’s journey in medicine began with a passion for both science and art. She ventured to Rochester, New York, where she pursued degrees in Neuroscience and Studio Art, blending her analytical mind with her creative spirit. Her path then led her back to the Texas coast, where she attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. It was there, in anatomy class, that she met her husband, Kevin—a fellow medical student—and the two embarked on their medical careers side by side.
The Drs. Hancock stayed in Galveston for their residencies, forming a tight-knit family that included their two beloved dogs, Shiner and Ruby, and a flock of backyard chickens. Now, they’re thrilled to be planting roots in picturesque Ponte Vedra, FL, ready to continue their shared passion for helping others while exploring all that coastal life has to offer.
Dr. Hancock’s journey through medical school and her six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at UTMB was marked by dedication and excellence. Graduating cum laude with her degrees in Neuroscience and Studio Art from the University of Rochester, she further honed her skills during her residency under the mentorship of Dr. Bates, eventually serving as Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Hancock’s passions include acrylic and oil painting, hiking, running, and of course, caring for her dogs and chickens. She and her husband love to travel, and one of her dreams is to own her very own ranch—Hancock Farms—where they can embrace a slower pace of life surrounded by nature. As she settles into Ponte Vedra, Dr. Hancock is excited to continue making a difference in the lives of her patients while also chasing her dream of someday running her own ranch.

Dr. Hancock and Lindsay are out of this world amazing!!! I had a tight time frame that I was shooting for and without such an amazing team, it wouldn’t have been possible! Dr. Hancock’s knowledge and personality put me at ease within minutes of meeting her! She is truly a master of her craft! The entire team on day of surgery were beyond anything I could’ve imagined! I just wanted to reach out /write you and tell you how pleased and satisfied I am with my surgery and the results I have received. Dr Burk and I discussed the options/goals and what’s realistic and what wasn’t. I had obtained several other consultations with other plastic offices and with another surgeon telling me that I needed additional work, yet Dr. Burk disagreed and thought otherwise and guided me in the right direction. I felt confident and relaxed with his recommendation. He is extraordinarily talented in performing both primary and revision procedures. Dr Burk helped me to achieve exceptional outcome with my facial and neck modifications along with the improvement of my hands by suggesting fat transfer. I would like to also recognize The staff at PVP. They are very professional, very well organized and excellent with privacy. I really enjoyed working with Carol and I simply loved my over night nurse Carrie Cummings. Carrie was phenomenal. She was very attentive and caring. I’m hoping to return in the near future for my facial pigmentation.
