Dr. Christopher Bates is thrilled to embrace his new chapter in Northeast Florida, a region he is excited to call home. A native of Dalton, Georgia, Dr. Bates has always been passionate about exploring the world, a love that began when he was an exchange student in Germany during high school. This passion for travel has continued throughout his life, as he and his wife, Miranda, have lived in various states, most recently relocating from California. Their families have strong ties to the St. Simons area, making the move to Northeast Florida feel like a return to familiar surroundings.
Professionally, Dr. Bates brings a wealth of experience to his role at Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery, where he is known for his expertise in procedures like mommy makeovers, body contouring, and both surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation. He is board-certified and has earned a reputation for his commitment to patient care, reflected in his numerous accolades and the high satisfaction rates among his patients.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Bates is an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and golf, and treasures spending time with his children, Brody and London. A passionate college football fan, you’ll often find him cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs—Go Dawgs!

Dr. Christopher Bates’s impressive academic journey began at the University of Georgia, where he graduated with honors. He then earned a scholarship to attend the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, graduating first in his class. Dr. Bates completed a rigorous six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, serving as Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery and President of the Resident Body. To further specialize, he pursued an Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship in Laguna Beach, California, under Dr. Dan Mills, a former president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
